Original entrance to Bagnigge Wells as it appeared in 1800. In the foreground a small child squats on the bank of a water way, retrieving with a stick a stray hat that has blown off into the water. Bagnigge Wells was a popular spa which thrived from 1760 to the end of the eighteenth century.
