Description
The map shows the area that was destroyed by the Great Fire in 1666. Inset on scroll at the bottom of the map is a plan for the rebuilding of London after the fire, the plan was previously ascribed to Robert Hooke but is now general agreed to be by an unknown cartographer. Scale: [1:14080], scale bar [1:15840], c.41/2":1 stat. mile, 2":1/2 "English mile". Extent: Burnhill - St. Katherine's - Lambeth - St. James's.
