Description
A view of the front elevations of the small central courtyard of All Saints School and Church House, 84 Margarets Street, Fitzrovia. This was formerly Parish School and Church House, built in 1868-70 by architect William Butterfield. The school completed the seminal group of buildings in Margaret Street, designed by Butterfield. These created a tough urban architecture of brick, with polychrome diaper decoration, and stone banding. The building became the London Fo Guang Shan Temple in 1992. It is a Buddhist temple, a monastery, a venue for cultural events, meditation and devotional activities. This property is Grade II* listed, listing number 1273611.
