Rear elevation of Montagu House, Portman Square, Marylebone. The view shows the bomb damaged house after it took a direct hit during the World War II blitz. The house was built for Elizabeth Montagu (1718-1800), designed by neoclassicist architect James Stuart and completed in 1781. It was situated in the north-west corner of Portman Square. The Nobu Hotel London Portman Square occupies the site.
