Description
A view of the front elevations of terraced houses at 11-15(odd) Camden Street, Camden Town. Two men in cloth caps, one wearing a jacket, the other just a waistcoat, stand on the pavement. Markings on the walls including "Lot 2" suggest the buildings were about to be or have been auctioned. Work appears to have started at far right in enclosing the houses behind hoardings. Some planks of wood lie on the pavement and a heavy timber leans on the railings. The houses have four storeys over the basement and are three windows wide. Ground-floor windows have internal shutters which are closed. The facing is brick aside from the basement which is stucco. One or two steps lead from the pavement to a platform in front of the front doors across the basement area. Railings surround the basement area. The houses may have been in multiple occupancy. The buildings no longer exist and Richard Cobden primary school occupies the site.
