Description
A view of the first-floor corridor and staircase of a grand house at 16 Fitzroy Square, Fitzrovia. The corridor has multiple arches as well as decorative stucco mouldings and corbels. A small dark wooden sideboard is visible in the corridor, which is carpeted. The staircase up has a gentle spiral to the right with a window on the landing. Dating from 1827-28, numbers 11, 12 and 15-19 Fitzroy Square and their railings were Grade II* listed in 1954; listing number 1112995. The symmetry of the original terrace was broken by a twentieth-century insertion of a different design.
