Description
Double London Bridge proposed by George Dance the Younger as part of general improvements to the Port of London, 1800. Each bridge has a drawbridge. One or the other can be raised to let through a ship while traffic is diverted to the alternative route. There are crescent-shaped piazzas at either end, the Monument occupying one, a National Monument obelisk the other. See also Record No. 21494
