View of Rodney Road, Southwark, from the air, looking east onto Elba Place. The Archduke Charles public house is on the left, and Victory Primary School on the right. The school comprises two three-storey brick buildings with large windows. Children and a teacher can be seen in the playground behind the brick wall. The public house is a three-storey building with vermiculated stone and glazed tiling on the ground floor. Behind is a fenced-off yard. Elba Place is lined with parked cars. Beyond is an empty fenced off space and the rear elevation of a terrace of three-storey houses. Both the public house and the school date from at least the early nineteenth century. The Archduke Charles and the yard behind no longer exist; they were redeveloped into the Victory Community Park in the early twenty first century.
