Description
Number 41 Ben Jonson Road, Stepney, a derelict shop, Staffords Newsagents and Stationers, which stood on the corner of what was Essian Street. This ground-floor shop adjoins a three-storey building behind which has empty windows and a faded painted sign which reads 'Wholesale Retail Tobacconist'. There is an empty space to the right, where the building next door once stood. Just visible behind the building are houses is what was Monteagle Street. Essian Street and Monteagle Street no longer exist. These buildings have been demolished and the site now forms part of a housing complex centred around Bermuda Way including Hierro and Orkney Courts.
