Description
A street scene featuring shops at 238-254 Mile End Road, Stepney, opposite Stepney Green tube station. Lionel’s Car Hire 24 Hour Service is next door to number 240, a building emblazoned with Charles Benabo Assessors & Surveyors, established 1870, that looks bombed out. Embassy Regal are advertising '20 cigarettes for 23p' on the side of the Classic Restaurant. A woman with a pram is walking past Lionel’s Car Hire. None of these buildings survive.
