A man is looking in the window of GH Fall’s wallpaper shop at 107 Mile End Road, Stepney. They give Green Shield Stamps with their products. Walter’s Man’s Shop occupies number 111. Numbers 107-113 were originally built as Ireland’s Row in 1717; this Grade II listed Georgian terrace (listing number 1065800) was acquired by the Spitalfields Trust in 1989 for £25,000. Of the buildings in this photograph only number 113 retains its original appearance. The shopfronts shown here were removed and the terrace renovated to its original design.
