Oblique view of the front elevations of 18-20 Albemarle Street, Piccadilly. Grade II listed, listing numbers 1209834 and 1066520. Nearest the camera is the soot-blackened frontage of the Royal Institution, with its distinctive columns. Beyond this is number 20, which is part of the same institution. It is a late eighteenth-century, four-storey, brick-built house, five windows wide. There is a twentieth-century shop beneath including an elaborate arched doorway with a fanlight, and above the ground floor there is a balcony with iron railings. Number 19 is an eighteenth-century, five-storey, yellow stock brick-built house, three windows wide, all windows with wrought iron balconettes. There is a twentieth-century shop beneath including an arched doorway with a fanlight. Parked outside are a variety of cars, including a four-door Ford Consul, registration number 948 WPA, an Austin Cambridge van, an Austin Westminster, an Austin A40 and a Mini.
