A view of the two sides and corner of the building which is Grade II listed, listing number 1066310. National Westminster Bank at 61 Carey Street, Holborn (also addressed as 95 Chancery Lane, Holborn) as seen from Chancery Lane. On the right of the photograph is Chancery Lane leading to High Holborn and on the left of the photograph is the turning into Carey Street. Next door to the bank at 93-94 Chancery Lane is the four-storey Victorian building housing the business of Ede and Ravenscroft (tailors and robe makers) who have supplied robes for coronations and lawyers. Neighbouring Victorian four and five-storey buildings can also be seen further down Chancery Lane. Also in the scene can be seen a number of parked cars including taxi cabs in Carey Street and a refrigerated delivery van. Street furniture in the scene include a modern lamppost in Chancery Lane and a post box in Carey Street. Fronting the bank are iron railings with gilded finials surmounting the side supports and behind the railings by the Chancery Lane entrance to the bank can be seen a pile of rubbish bags. Attached to the bank can be seen two signs carrying the National Westminster Bank symbol and the bank's name. The bank's symbol can also be seen above the bank's Chancery Lane entrance and the name of the bank can be seen above the ground floor windows on both sides of the building. The bank eventually closed and in 1999 the building became a J. D. Wetherspoon pub known as The Knights Templar. As of 2021 the business of Ede and Ravenscroft was still trading in Chancery Lane and Star Yard, Holborn behind the former bank building.
