A view of the front elevation of Trafalgar Buildings at the junction of Charing Cross, Northumberland Avenue, to the left, and Whitehall in Westminster. The curved building, formerly a grand hotel, carries an advertising sign for Bovril beef drink at the top floor. The building has shops on the ground floor with several floors of other accommodation above. Premises on the ground floor include E Lodge & Co, a ticket agency advertising performances by singer Tommy Steele and by the Young Generation, both at the Adelphi Theatre, Lewis tobacconist and gift shop and Bravington's jeweller. The Elizabeth Tower housing Big Ben can be seen in the distance along Whitehall. An Austin FX4 London taxi is waiting at the traffic lights in Northumberland Avenue. Several pedestrians can be seen. Dating from 1881-2, Trafalgar Buildings was Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1266434.
