Description
A view of the Strand elevation of Northumberland House in Charing Cross, Westminster. It was the London home of the Percy family, who were the dukes of Northumberland. A horse-drawn carriage can also be seen and some street bollards. Dating from 1605, the house was demolished in 1874. It faced Trafalgar Square at what now is the western end of the Strand and was removed to allow construction of Northumberland Avenue.
