A view of a gateway in the courtyard of Northumberland House in Charing Cross, Westminster. It was the London home of the Percy family, who were the dukes of Northumberland. Dating from 1605, the house faced Trafalgar Square at what now is the western end of the Strand and was demolished in 1874 to allow construction of Northumberland Avenue.
