Description
Horse Guards Parade, Westminster, looking north towards the Old Admiralty Buildings. The oldest part of the Admiralty buildings were designed by architect Thomas Ripley and completed in 1726. They are thought to be the first ‘purpose built’ official building in Britain. The office block visible in the distance is New Zealand House, completed in 1963 by architects Robert Matthew, Johnson Marshall & Partners (RMJM). Pedestrians are crossing the path across the parade between Horse Guards Road and Whitehall.
