Cornice in Room 17 of Michael Angelo Taylor's House, 1 Horse Guards Avenue, Westminster. Room 17 was the southern room on the ground floor. The photograph shows a a wide cornice with panelled modillions. The house was built by architect Robert Taylor for his son in 1793. Michael Angelo Taylor was a politician, chiefly known in connection with the Metropolitan Paving Act of 1817, which is still referred to as "Michael Angelo Taylor's Act."
