Description
Driveway and front elevation of the large Georgian detached house known as Broom Hall, Shooter's Hill. A wheelbarrow is visible in the driveway opposite the front door. Built in 1733 by Sir John Lidgbird who purchased an extensive area of land on Shooter's Hill. Lidgbird was a churchwarden of Plumstead and governor of its workhouse and in 1741 was the High Sheriff of Kent. Broom Hall was demolished in 1937 and replaced by houses on Shooter's Hill and Hill End.
