Description
Remains of a decorative fountain in the grounds of Wyke House, Syon Lane, Isleworth. Wyke House, the manor house of the ancient Wyke Manor, was modernised in the late eighteenth century by its new owner John Robinson, who added a dining room designed by John Adam. The house became a school in the nineteenth century and later a private lunatic asylum. It was still in use as a mental hospital in 1958 and later became a rehabilitation centre. Despite being Grade II listed, it fell into serious disrepair in the 1970s and was demolished in 1978. Stags Way housing now occupies its site.
