Description
View of front elevations of shops and buildings at 103-113 London Road, Mitcham. Businesses include the Gardeners Arms public house; a newsagents with papers on display and advertisements for Lyons Maid Ice Cream and Golden Virginia tobacco; Ernie Chambers bicycle shop with advertisements for Raleigh, Phillips and Dawes (Ernie Chambers the owner was a track cyclist and silver medal winner in the 1928 and 1932 Olympic Games); and Stanley Dale and Sons. Adjacent are advertisement hoardings with posters for Rothmans cigarettes and Ben Truman beer. Buildings later demolished and site reused for Pathway Lodge.
