Train leaving Honor Oak Park station (London Brighton & South Coast Railway) looking north c.1900. The train is formed of a 'close coupled' set of ten 4-wheeled coaches worked by a 'D' Class tank engine all designed by William Stroudley (1833-1889). The white disc with black cross positioned above the left buffer - from the perspective of the viewer - is the head signal, which in this case identifies the train as a London Bridge to Victoria service via Norwood Junction.
