Description
Illustration from "Cripplegate Ward" by J.J. Baddeley (1921), showing a range of buildings along the eastern side of Whitecross Street, all but the far left forming part of the Goods Depot of the Great Northern Railway. The horse and carriage is emerging from one of the entrances to the Beehive Carriers' Yard, which lay to the rear of the street frontage. The entrance shown here is about 25 yards north (left) of the archway in image 25321. On the far left is the Peacock public house.
