Description
View of the Beulah Spa, Norwood. The spa opened c1831 and the waters drawn from the 4.3m deep well were lauded for their quality. Visitors included Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens. Pleasure gardens were developed around the spa but the site closed the mid-1850s, when the crystal palace from the Great Exhibition arrived in nearby Sydenham.
