This map bears the full title: 'An exact map representing the condition of the late famous and flourishing City of London as it lyeth in its ruins ... wherein you may see what churches, halls and places of note with a multitude of houses yt weare burnt ... by that ... fire which began ... 2d of september1666 '. This is an enlarged copy of the 1666 map engraved by Wenceslaus Hollar and sold by John Overton. It contains a list of churches and an index to the halls beloning to the City livery companies. There is a stark constrast between the empty area burnt by the fire and the surrounding areas which are depicted in bird's-eye view. Scale: 91/4":1 miles [1:6850]. Extent: Finsbury Fields - Tower - Bankside - Lincoln's Inn Fields.
