Lady Hertford sits astride the giant mortar known as the Regent's bomb, which flies through the air. She is very decollete and displays leg between dress and stocking. Lady Hertford had been the Prince Regent's mistress since at least 1807 overlapping with Mrs Fitzherbert. The 'R' referred to is the Duchess of Richmond, a possible rival for the Regent's affections.
