Description
Models of Extinct Animals - A group of Labyrinthodon, now recognised scientifically as Mastodonsaurus. Plesiosaurs, a Teleosaur and Pterosaurs (noted as the Pterodactyle of the Oolite) can be seen in the background. Some of the models created by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-1894) that were exhibits at the reconstructed Crystal Palace exhibition hall at Sydenham Hill. Some of this group of statues are now part of the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs found in Crystal Palace Park.
