Description
Coats of arms on top of monument to Dorothy Greswold showing her impaled marital arms during her lifetime to her two husbands. On left impaled marital arms of first husband John Weld, the colour of the field red / gules is incorrect and it should be blue / azure. On right impaled marital arms of second husband Hugh Offley. Dorothy Greswold was the only daughter of Roger Greswold of London. Greswold quartered arms feature the greyhound. Dorothy Offlie was buried at St Andrew’s Undershaft on 19th July 1610. In centre is a lozenge the traditional shape to depict female coat of arms.
