View of the Livery Hall in Drapers' Hall, Throgmorton Avenue, City of London. View of the main entrances to the hall with two sets of oak double doors with triangular wooden pediments and oak panels above, each of which contains a wall clock. Between the doors is a large oak-panelled feature with an ornate semi-circular pediment above. Marble statues of Hypatia by Richard Belt and Venus, a copy of John Gibson's tinted Venus, can be seen. The room is set up with chairs in a theatre-style arrangement. Approximately half of the ceiling is visible featuring intricate plasterwork and Shakespearean scenes painted by Herbert Draper between 1903 and 1910. A high, narrow open gallery with a stone balustrade and mirrored recesses running around the hall can also be seen. The whole of the DrapersĀ“ Hall complex was Grade II listed in 1972; listing number 1358902.
