This photograph shows 11-15 Battersea High Street. At the centre of the photograph is London House, built by James Bennett c.1780, linen draper whose plaques still decorate the front of the property. It is believed he redeveloped an existing property on the site, infilling and closing a gateway to the yard and workshops beyond. Here, premises are occupied by Purewite Laundry Services Ltd (no.11), the Post Office (no.13) and Abbey Warehouses (no.15). Redeveloped as part of the Battersea Square development, the site was later London House, a restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay. A post box, traffic furniture and lamp posts from different eras are visible. Properties on Battersea Church Road can be seen in the distance.
