A view southwards down the high street, covering 29-55 Battersea High Street, showing three-storey nineteenth-century terraces with shops on the ground floor and residential premises above. Numerous shop awnings, including for Metropolitan Dairy (complete with milk churns on the street outside) and L.G. Vedy, bookseller and newsagent, with newspaper boards outside. Two women in Edwardian dress can be seen on left of the photograph, looking into the window of Poole's at no.29. The steeple of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Trott Street can be seen in the distance.
