Description
View of side elevation of disused Oil and Colour Stores at 21 Albion Street, Rotherhithe, at the junction with Neptune Street. There are oil-jars on the first floor facade and a poster from the LCC noting that the building and fittings are to be sold. Market stall with crates, leafy vegetables, celery, parsnips, and women shopping in the foreground. All buildings were later demolished as the site was cleared for the construction by the LCC of the Rotherhithe Tunnel. The site of the shop and this section of Neptune Street became part of the site of St Olav's, the Norwegian church, and the shops visible in the background were replaced with newer shops.
