Doorway to numbers 7 and 8 of Sir William Powell Almshouses, Church Gate, Fulham. A carved wooden panel door case above an arch with numbers 7-8 carved into stonework in the shape of a flower. Founded in 1680 and rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1869 by architect John Pollard Seddon, the buildings are Grade II* listed. The almshouses still exist; managed by the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, they provide 12 one bedroom flats for older women. The residences are arranged in pairs, each of which has one entrance doorway situated under a recessed porch.
