Description
A view of two buildings at 53-55 Gray's Inn Road, Holborn. Number 53 is a four-storey terraced brick house with shop sign saying 'R F Hunter Ltd' and two separate entrances. A blocked off half window is seen on the first floor, and white letters affixed between second and third floor say 'Celfix House'. This building has been renovated with the neighbouring houses at 49-51, with the front elevation re-built in a uniform design and dormers added; as of 2019 it contains a specialised cycle shop, Condor Cycles, which started at 90 Gray's Inn Road in 1948. Number 55 is a Grade II listed four-storey terraced house with a shop sign saying 'Kelly & Son'; it has two separate entrances. Multi-coloured brick with red brick dressings. A blocked-off half window is seen on the first floor. As of 2019 there is a restaurant at this address. The shop at number 57, Lewis A & Co. Tobacconist, can be seen with a sign advertising Craven "A" cigarettes.
