A view of a block of flats at 166 Gray's Inn Road, Holborn, by Elm Street, called Dulverton Mansions. It was built by James Hartnoll (1853-99) who was the developer of many blocks of social housing in London in late Victorian times. Built in the 1890s as "artisans' dwellings", there are 50 flats in the building. It is a five-storey red brick building with bays, dormers and a Dutch-style gable by one of two entrances. Pollarded young plane trees are standing in the pavement where street lamps and a belisha crossing can also be seen. A bicycle is by the railings.
