Description
Front elevations of terraced houses at 1-8 Ottis Street (now Otis Street), Poplar, looking south-west. In the background is the rear elevation of 27 Hancock Road. The two-storey terrace with stone cornice running along the top is on the south side of a cul-de-sac and shows signs of severe bomb damage. Partial view on the right of what could be a temporary air raid shelter of new bricks in the middle of the road. The terrace was demolished and three single-storey prefabs (numbered 1, 2 and 3) were built which were eventually demolished and the area is now a car park for a superstore off Three Mill Lane.
