Description
View of the three-storey nineteenth- or early twentieth-century works buildings of Beecham Foods Ltd at 19-23 Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, looking north towards Poplar at the junction with Cuba Street. Beecham Foods Ltd took over C. and E. Morton Ltd jam manufacturers in the 1950s. C. and E. Morton, which opened on the Westferry Road site in 1872, was at one time the largest employer on the Isle of Dogs. Part of the name 'Morton' is visible on the wooden gate. Cars, a lorry and tall street lamp posts can be seen. The buildings were later replaced by office and apartment buildings in the 1980s and 2008.
