Houses in Commercial Road
Description
Numbers 683-691 Commercial Road, Stepney, five remaining houses of an early nineteenth-century terrace. These three-storey houses with basements are stock brick built with stucco eaves, cornice and a blocking course. They have sash windows, six-panelled doors with round-headed surrounds and fanlights, and fluted quarter columns. The ground-floor windows of numbers 683-689 have had a column of bricks built for support. The terrace was Grade II listed in 1973 (listing number 1357810) and has since been renovated.
