Description
Staircase leading from first-floor landing to second floor of Cliefden House, 101 Eltham High Street, Eltham. Wood panelled with decorative newel posts. Cliefden House was originally built around 1720, with an eastern extension added during the mid-nineteenth century. It was originally a private house and was at one point a military academy for young gentlemen ran by a Mr Thomas Hopkirk, but since the early part of the twentieth century the building has been split between shops and offices.
