Description
Rear elevation the former Eltham Workhouse, situated at 219 Eltham High Street, Eltham. Opened in 1738, the property was latterly used as almshouses until it was demolished in 1964. It was replaced by the Fifteenpenny Fields almshouses which opened in Blunts Road in 1963. In the foreground is a yard with a large amount of building materials, potentially belonging to the builders merchants situated next door to the almshouses.
