View of rioters setting fire to Newgate Prison in 1780. In the frenzy a man stoops to retrieve his fallen wig in the foreground on the left. Behind him and throughout the crowd released prisoners can be seen wearing leg irons. Flags and speech bubbles make various anti Papist statements.
