"Second stage of cruelty"
"Second stage of cruelty"; shows Tom Nero, as a coachman, beating his disabled horse savagely, behind is an overturned carriage crammed full of barristers from Thieves' Inn. To the right a drover clubs a sheep to death, whilst behind him a sleepy drayman has just run over a boy with his cart.
