"The murder of Rizzio"; showing the moment before the murder of David Rizzio, an Italian musician who was Mary, Queen of Scots private foreign secretary. Rizzio organised the marriage to Henry Stewart, Lord Darnley. Rizzio's powerful position later led to his murder by Darnley, Thomas Morton and Lindsay at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh on 9th March 1566.
