Description
Front elevation of the fourteen-storey building at 122 Leadenhall Street, City of London. It was completed in 1969 and occupied by P&O. It was 54 metres tall with, an three additional storeys under ground. Damaged by the IRA bombing in the early 1990s, it was demolished in 2007. The building currently standing on the site, which is also known as 'The Cheesegrater', was designed by Rogers, Stirk, Harbour and Partners and opened in 2014. The tall building to the right is NatWest Tower (now referred to as Tower 42), designed by R Seifert and Partners in 1980 at 25 Old Broad Street. The road to the right of the zebra crossing is St Mary Axe, where two cars are parked in front of the Aviva building. Pedestrians cross the road in front of a car and van just behind.
