Description
A view west down Ludgate Hill towards Ludgate Circus and Fleet Street, City of London. The road passes under the Ludgate Hill Viaduct which was constructed in 1865 by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway. The line was taken underground and the viaduct demolished in 1990. The view is dominated by the distinctive steeple of St Bride Church, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1670 and 1684. It was Grade I listed in 1950; listing number 1064657. Cars, taxis, vans and buses pass down Ludgate Hill and on up busy Fleet Street.
