Title
Oxo Tower Wharf in Barge House Street
Description
View of the Oxo Tower Wharf on Barge House Street, Bankside, from Victoria Embankment across the river. The building was originally constructed as a power station but was bought and extended by the Liebig Extract of Meat Company in the 1920s who got around the ban on skyline advertising by building the iconic "OXO" tower windows. On the left are a number of wharves including Soane Wharf and Hope Wharf. The wharves have since been demolished and redeveloped as Sea Containers House.
