Middlesex Street Estate under construction
Description
A busy street scene looking northwards up Middlesex Street (formerly Petticoat Lane), Spitalfields, featuring the Middlesex Street Estate under construction. It comprises the 23-storey Petticoat Tower and low-rise buildings around Petticoat Square. In the background are warehouses that once belonged to the East India Company. These have been redeveloped but some structures are Grade II listed, listing number 1064679. The street is bustling with pedestrians and vehicles. A van (WRK698G), a lorry (ELK712J), and car (WJD885G) can be seen in the street. An old Police Telephone Post can be seen behind the van; it no longer exists but the ones in London that do are Grade II listed.
