Models of Dinosaurs - The Iguanodon
Description
Models of Extinct Animals - the Iguanodon. The two models show different views of how this dinosaur might have appeared, one on four legs and the other sprawled like an iguana on a trunk. Part of a group of sculptures of dinosaurs and extinct mammals, amphibians and reptiles created by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-1894) in the 1850s for Crystal Palace Park in Sydenham, to compliment the arrival of the Crystal Palace from Hyde Park.
